Lee Sutton-Ward is a female yoga teacher that has practiced various types of hatha yoga since the mid 1990s.
She originated from a creative back ground, model/puppet maker, costumier, and art worker, and has found the different disciplines strangely weave into one another. How we move anatomically, how it feels, noticing the detailed subtitles of texture, elasticity, and range of motion. It is for this reason she has always had a keen interest in anatomy, replicating realistic movement mechanically, coating it in a muscle suit and then skin like structure.
In 2016 she completed her first yoga teacher training, shortly after which she suffered an injury which flagged up a previously unknown condition of hip dysplasia. Frustrated and distressed at the thought of having to give up yoga, she looked into different styles that could be more suitable, practicing then, with Pippa Richardson and Catherine Annis.
Since injury, anatomy has become even more important to her, she is fascinated by the bodies ability to move, mend, listen and adjust, and is why she completed the Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training in 2020. Drawn in by the superb line up of teachers and their collective yoga and anatomy knowledge.
Lee's teaching style now places emphasis on the individual, calming the nervous system, and attuning to the body. Encouraging a slow and gentle journey into ones own experience. Hopeful that this experience may permeate into a students everyday life. She currently teaches two open zoom classes, Wednesday afternoon at 4pm and Thursday morning 10am. She is also available for corporate and for one to one classes.
