Which Yoga Teacher Training is right for me?

Which Yoga Teacher Training is right for me?

Now that you've taken the first step and decided to become a yoga teacher, how do you decide which teacher training course is right for you?

This is an exciting time and it can be a little overwhelming with so many choices and such a wide variety of courses.

To help you decide, I've created a handy guide which outlines the main considerations. Whilst you're researching, here are the top 6 questions to ask yourself before you commit.

Top 6 questions to consider before you choose
the right yoga teacher training course

1. Do you like the teacher/s?

This may sound superficial, but it matters. You'll be spending a lot of time listening to and practicing with them, so it makes sense that you should like them and have respect for their approach.

If you don't already know them, take the time to attend a few of their classes so you get a feel for the way they relate to their students. If you feel a connection, then that's a great indication that you're in the right place.

2. Focus & Style

Which aspect of yoga do you enjoy the most?

Choose a course which focuses on the areas you find most absorbing, so you can teach from your heart, with passion.

3. Dates & time

Do the times and dates work for you?  Will you have time to absorb the material and work with it, before plunging into the next module.  We've organised our Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training course across 5 modules, to give you time to practice and digest the work.  We also acknowledge the importance of quality time with family & friends, so there's plenty of space for reflection and personal time between each meeting.

4. Real-world preparations

How much teaching practice is included?  Many newly qualified teachers find they lack confidence.  On IYTT we dedicate a high percentage of our time supporting you to develop your teaching voice, so you become a confident and authentic teacher.

5. Cost and quality

A teacher training course represents a major investment in your career and we know you're looking for outstanding value for money.  When you choose IYTT, we work hard to honour your commitment.

The IYTT team are all senior teachers, with decades of experience, which we're passionate about sharing with you. This is why I believe IYTT is probably the best teacher training in the UK.

We will be with you every step of the way, offering first class mentoring and personal contact. We've chosen to deliver some of the course online, because this is such a valuable and specific skillset, and one we believe is here to stay. Whilst we record our sessions so you can recap on your learning later, all our sessions are delivered live, either online or in person.

6. Will there be ongoing support?

Yoga can bring up loads of questions, so it helps to be able to contact your course leaders outside the course contact hours. At IYTT we believe passionately in the importance of mentoring.  You will be allocated your own mentor who will help answer questions and offer advice throughout the training.

This relationship doesn't end with the course either.  Once you've studied with us, we'll always be there for you, so you can feel supported throughout your career and have access to expert guidance at any point in the future.

If you have any questions about the training, or your suitability, please ping me a message and we can arrange time for a chat.
