200 hour, yoga teacher training course, London

Dana Andrew

Yoga teacher

"So thought provoking , challenging, inspirational and progressive. All the trainers have so much experience, knowledge and passion to share.  I can't recommend this training enough.

The teachers are extremely generous with their knowledge and very supportive. They really encourage us to celebrate our individuality and creativity as yoga teachers and are not interested in churning out 'robotic' yoga teachers who teach by rote or teach set sequences. The students I have started to teach have responded really positively to this approach."

Marta Martinez

Data scientist | Yoga teacher

"This training course has been a truly transformational experience. I chose this course because I wanted to really deepen my practice. I wanted to explore, to learn, to question, to feel, to embody, to listen, to understand and to develop the confidence to "maybe" teach some day. And I can honestly say - it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Catherine and the team are remarkable teachers, not only for all the knowledge they generously share during the 18th months, but for the incredibly supportive and safe space they created for us to make this journey truly ours."

Caroline Wright

Yoga teacher

"The IYTT offers a caring space for a thought provoking experience of self enquiry and discovery. The language and teaching is rich in anatomical learning and the teachers are extremely knowledgeable in their fields of study. Highly recommended course."

Annie French

Yoga teacher

"Having just finished this teacher training course, I can honestly say it has prepared me for teaching yoga. It is taught with such rigour and kindness and challenges every aspect of yoga practice. Hard work, but highly recommended."

Anni Sanderson

Mindfulness teacher

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my training at IYTT. After many years of thinking my body wasn’t “good enough or flexible enough to be a Yoga teacher”, this training has deleted all those thoughts and given me the confidence to help myself and others investigate, explore, play and have fun with yoga practice.

The whole faculty have a wealth of many years of different experience. They teach in a safe and interesting way that encompasses the latest scientific research in fascia and anatomy plus using other modern movement and creative influences.

Highly recommended!"

Jo Racle

Yoga teacher

"I came to IYTT after extensive researching. Training to be a yoga teacher is a big investment, financially and time-wise, so I wanted to get it right. I like that I was vetted for the course; I like that I had to put a strong application in.

The course content is superb: interesting, varied and challenging, with proper homework. I can't actually think of anything that I would modify at all: the admin has been brilliantly organised, we have a WhatsApp group that is such a lifeline, and the dynamics between the students themselves, and between students and tutors is really warm and collaborative."

As our wonderful guest teacher Gary Carter often reminds us, we all owe our understanding to those who went before – we stand on their shoulders.

This is how yoga practice and teaching develops – each of us takes a deep dive down into the intricacies of whatever we find most absorbing and beneficial, unpicking the essence of that particular element of yoga.

Then we go through the process of translating it from felt sense into spoken language, so we can share it.

At Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training (IYTT) we’re inspired by all forms of movement – dance, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Somatic explorations and functional practices. Our yoga is filtered through these lenses and through the eyes of our teachers who led the way before.
Vanda Scaravelli is just one of those influences.

Our guest teachers throw their own takes into the mix, so there’s always plenty of lively debate!

Next course starts October – if you’re keen to discuss and examine your yoga and share your learning process with other likeminded souls, ping us a message.
