Charlotte Watts book : Yoga Therapy for Digestive Health

Yoga Therapy for Digestive Health
by Charlotte Watts

A Yoga Master's Handbook of Strength, Grace, and Healing

At a perfectly timed moment within the evolution of our understanding of the significance of digestive health toward improved wellbeing comes a book that offers thorough, accessible and informed guidance of the treatment of your body and mind. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in diet and the addressing of digestive related issues, and for those involved in the teaching, therapy and practice of personal wellbeing.
Simon Low, The Yoga Academy principal and international yoga teacher

I am pleased that Charlotte Watts has asked me to endorse this well researched and well written book. Brimming with the relevant information and punctuated by insight, Yoga Therapy for Digestive Health blends Eastern Yoga with Western research and understanding in order to address digestive dysfunctions and conditions. Beyond this we are reminded of the potential and scope of Yoga practice on various levels. This book should be included in the library of all teachers and practitioners who are interested in Yoga as a therapy and is a timely reminder of what yoga is and can be.
John Stirk, Yoga Teacher and Osteopath

Charlotte Watts' Yoga for Digestive Health unlocks ancient and contemporary understandings of the possible roots and causes of digestive disorders. She also artfully champions yoga as an embodied, compassionate pathway that leads to lasting digestive health. Moving past conventional approaches to 'fix' the gut, Watts inspires readers to look at the root causes of disorder, which are often trauma and stress. She then graciously demonstrates how we can employ yoga as an effective means to meet and respond to these origins through the wisdom of our body, breath and mind.

This is a great book that really brings together the author's expertise in the subjects of yoga and nutrition into a very accessible guide for anyone suffering from any kind of digestive health issues. The book is very easy to read, and full of beautifully illustrated yoga practices, tailored to different digestive problems. It's the kind of book you can dip in and out of depending on whether you want to read more of the yoga theory behind the practices or just find an easy sequence that works for you.

I would also recommend the book for yoga teachers who are working with students with digestive issues and want to understand how to better help them.
